The requirements of Approved Document E of the Building Regulations (2000) apply to the sound insulation performance of separating walls and separating floors, the sound insulation of internal walls and floors, the control of reverberation inside communal areas and acoustic conditions within schools (BB93).

The regulations also require residential properties to have pre-completion sound testing undertaken in order to demonstrate compliance with the performance requirements detailed within Section 0 of Part E.

Independent Environmental Consultancy Limited are Registered under The Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) Scheme for Pre-Completion Sound Insulation Testing (Registration No. 170). Our test reports are accepted nationwide for Building Control, NHBC & Code of Sustainable Homes requirements.

Since our inception in 2005, we have grown to occupy our current position as one of the market leaders for providing sound insulation testing in the UK. This has been facilitated by our experienced test engineers (all have a minimum of 15 years experience) and our independent accreditation.

Our acoustics team provides an efficient service on a national scale to large and small developers alike. Please complete our online enquiry form or give us a call on 01502 732733.

Developers are now realising the benefit of commissioning an Acoustic Design Review prior to works commencing. The benefit of this is to ensure the site passes the sound test and in many cases significantly reducing build costs. Unlike some test organisations in the UK, IEC is COMPLETELY independent and not linked to any acoustic system manufacturer/supplier. Our reviews provide the most robust and cost-effective design options to achieve compliance. Contact us for details on Acoustic Design & Testing Packages.

*We also provide Air Pressure Testing for New Build Developments.
